The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the world, comprised of men and women dedicated and committed to time-honored values that we all treasure and revere. Upon being sworn in, and guided by the core principles of fairness, integrity, commitment to the rule of law, and respect for humanity and human dignity, each deputy stands against all forms of crime, bigotry, prejudice and racism, oftentimes jeopardizing their own well-being in the performance of their duties. In recognition of these principles and in appreciation of the men and women who have committed themselves to protect these values, LASSO enables our community to offer our sincere gratitude by raising scholarship funds for the children of the members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. This reciprocation not only serves as a financial benefit but also as an incentive, acting to attract qualified men and women to the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department and to foster a communal spirit between residents and the Department's members.
